The way this site protection held up throughout the demo and post-demo cleanup makes me a happy boy.

Using the Armour Board (wall protection) and the Armour Tape (blue and red tapes) from Axiom Surface Protection really let the guys from West Crow Contracting create a full protective blanket for this site; without any areas left unprotected for errant garbage carts, etc.

We had extra pieces of Armour Board, and actually lined the hallways with it, and stood two pieces upright to totally protect the 8' door.

The Armour Tape deserves extra recognition. If you look closely you will notice a complete lack of painters tape. This Armour Tape you can apply directly to finished surfaces! No need for taping twice!

I have had the Armour Tape down on the finished floors and walls in this project for 24 days now and it is still holding strong and everywhere I've tested pulling it off of a finished surface, I have done so completely without incident.

All in, because we spent so much time protecting the site, the actual demolition part of the scope took less than a day! More time on the front end developing a plan and a near to-the-hour itinerary may seem like a lot of phone calls and emails for a small 3-4k demo scope, it pays off in the end when you don't have to go back to your client for more money before the job is really even getting started!

I also wanted to give a shoutout to the 505-Junk team. With 2 crews and the help of the West Crow Contracting team I had on site, we were able to get 2600 lbs out of the apartment, through a commercial loading bay, and out of the building, by first coffee. And West Crow had the floor clean enough for me to lay down for this photo op before lunch.

Someone's home is usually the culmination of a lifetime of hard work. If you have been honoured to be the contractor they choose to work on their home, or any project for that matter, the absolute least you owe them is to treat their home with the care and respect you'd want them to treat your home.

This client is doing a full kitchen Reno, but we aren't touching the floors, or any drywall in the areas opposite from the Millwork. There is also a living area that is directly attached where the furniture that is staying has been poly'd off and tucked away.

I tried some new products from Axiom Surface Protection that I was extremely happy with.

For the supply and install of the site protection material itself, I subcontracted to my good friends at West Crow Contracting. Working with subcontractors like West Crow Contracting who understand the value of site protection was a treat. Normally if you include Site Protection in the demolition scope, the demo guys come and do it as fast as they can, because they aren't making any money on it.

On this job I budgeted for about $1000 in site protection materials, plus 12-16 man hours for install.
