🧡Another chapter for the Hope Truck!

On September 29, WM-IMW was proud to join our partners for the ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the second year of the Hope Truck.

Together with West Moberly First Nations, Saulteau First Nations, Chetwynd, Tumbler Ridge, and our industry partners, we’re supporting programs that put youth, culture, and community at the heart of this initiative.

Last year, the Hope Truck raised more than $151,000 for the four participating communities. With hauling beginning September 30, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the truck is now at work at Conuma Resources’ Willow Creek Mine for the next six months.

Industrial Metalwork presented scholarships to two outstanding students from Tumbler Ridge Secondary School: Junior Galapia and Avaya Hayes.

Junior has spent the past two years with our team through the Student Work Experience Program and now as an employee. He shows up eager to learn, works hard, and is committed to building his future as a welder. He's now in the Welding Foundation program at Okanagan College.

Avaya balanced top academic achievement with work, volunteering, and leadership throughout high school. She's now in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at College of New Caledonia, with a goal of bringing healthcare back to northern communities.

Congratulations again to Junior and Avaya. We're proud to support the next generation in our community.
