A Critical Warning from Santos Drill and Blast: We Are Victims of a Sophisticated Cyber Fraud.

To our professional network, clients, suppliers, and peers in the industry:

Over the past few days, Santos Drill and Blast has been subjected to a highly sophisticated and devastating email breach that has resulted in
a gross financial loss of funds honestly earned by our dedicated team.

This was not a typical phishing scam. The criminals expertly infiltrated existing email chains, used authentic email addresses, blocked communication between our team and our partners, forged documents with my signature, and successfully changed banking details,
redirecting large Electronic Funds Transfers (EFTs) to their accounts.

The sophistication of this crime was alarming, and we want to share this painful lesson so that no other business has to endure the same:

OUR CRITICAL ADVICE TO ALL BUSINESSES

ALWAYS Verify Banking Changes by Phone: You must verbally verify any request to add or change client, supplier, or vendor banking information via a pre-established, trusted phone number. No matter how legitimate an email appears, it is not a safe or reliable source for critical financial exchange.

Acquire Cyber Fraud Insurance: This type of insurance is no longer a luxury—it is a necessity for business protection in the modern digital
landscape.

Cybercrime is severely underestimated and poses an existential threat to honest businesses and livelihoods.
