Wastewater treatment plants face a unique challenge balancing variable loads and power quality.

In one case, a facility upgrade included dozens of VFDs that introduced harmonic distortion. To meet IEEE 519 requirements, the initial design proposed multiple filters sized to maximum capacity.

However, a collaborative review uncovered that actual operating demand was much lower due to redundant systems.

This led to a revised harmonic mitigation approach:

• One filter no longer required
• Remaining filters significantly smaller
• Reduced system footprint

The result was a more cost-effective solution with over 40% savings and improved use of space, while meeting compliance requirements.

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting our Marketing Rep Council at our facilities in Monterrey, Mexico.

The event brought together representatives from across our network for valuable discussions on what's working, where we can improve, and how we can continue delivering the best possible experience for our customers. It was a great opportunity to share ideas, strengthen relationships, and collaborate on what's next for HPS.

A highlight of the visit was touring two of our manufacturing facilities and seeing firsthand the dedication, expertise, and craftsmanship of our teams in Monterrey. A special thank you to everyone who helped organize the event and to the employees who generously shared their time and knowledge during the plant tours.
