Meet Dan Alac, Vice President of Sales at ALCOT. As the grandson of founder Jan Alac and part of the next generation of leadership, Dan’s connection to the company runs deep, growing up around the business and experiencing its evolution firsthand.

Since officially joining ALCOT in 2015, Dan has progressed from salesperson to Sales Manager and now VP of Sales, where he leads strategic growth, customer relationships, and market development.

John Alac, President of ALCOT PLASTICS, is the son of founder Jan Alac and has been part of the company’s story from the very beginning. Founded in 1983 with a vision to simplify and improve polyethylene foam extrusion, ALCOT quickly built a reputation for innovation, efficiency, and product quality; values that continue to define the company today.

Growing up around the business, John developed a deep understanding of both the operation and the mindset that built it. From working on the production floor to helping modernize systems and expand into a larger facility, his hands-on experience has shaped his leadership approach. John focuses on keeping operations running smoothly while supporting the team behind every product that leaves the facility.

As ALCOT continues its next chapter with W. R. MEADOWS, John’s leadership remains rooted in the same innovative spirit that started it all.

Our Story - Built on Innovation, Driven by Family Since 1983

ALCOT PLASTICS began with a journey.

In 1968, founder Jan Alac immigrated from Czechoslovakia to Canada with an engineering degree and a vision for a better future. Years later, that vision took shape. In 1983, he founded ALCOT PLASTICS with a clear goal: to create the most efficient polyethylene foam extrusion solutions on the market.

From the very beginning, Jan believed that if you built the best product, success would follow. His focus on screening spline and pipe insulation, paired with a commitment to innovation and technical excellence, quickly set ALCOT apart. The company grew not through aggressive sales tactics, but through quality, consistency, and reputation.

In the early 2010s, the next generation joined the business. John Alac and Dan Alac helped usher in a new era of growth, expanding operations, strengthening partnerships, and building the ALCOT brand. Over the years, the company grew from a 17,000 sq ft facility to 95,000 sq ft, reflecting both increased demand and a commitment to long-term investment.

Along the way, ALCOT expanded its presence through trade shows, new product development, and a growing, dedicated team.

Today, ALCOT PLASTICS continues to build on that original foundation - combining innovation, experience, and family values to move the industry forward.
