Every year or so, we here at Enginuity put on our work gloves and high-vis vests (gilets for some) and go about cleaning up the neighbourhood.

The pride we have in our work is equal to the pride we have to our community. As you can see, it's quite literally bag fulls.

Remember when "Canada's Ocean Playground" was our best-kept secret?

Well, that cat is out of the proverbial bag.

This article, part of a larger feature about Nova Scotia's "360-degree upgrade" will undoubtedly find its way to the desktops of financial moguls worldwide.

Federal funding primed the pump, now FDI (foreign direct investment) will follow.

The world is now realising it is a great time to be in Nova Scotia - but to us, it always has been.

As Nova Scotia looks to revitalise its economy, defence and dual-use industries are on investors’ radars

There's a lot of salt in our veins.

Just down the road from Enginuity HQ is the ol' Sambro Harbour.

Small craft harbours like Sambro are essential infrastructure. They support fishing, marine transportation, and our local economies depend on them. From coast to coast to coast, Canada’s fisheries, aquaculture, and seafood processing sectors sustain nearly 65,000 jobs, including over 42,900 commercial fish harvesters, and generated $8.47 billion in exports in 2025.

The Government of Canada’s announcement of nearly $1 billion in funding over five years to repair, maintain, and modernise small craft harbours marks a significant investment in the future of coastal and rural communities like Sambro and many others.

Over the years, many of our proudest achievements have been supporting these operations, at sea and dockside.

It is great to see these important economic engines getting the attention they deserve.

Shout out to: The Honourables Jessica Fancy, Shannon Miedema, Chris d'Entremont and Fisheries Minister Joanne Thompson.

How do you maximise the ROI of your capital budget? Where do you start?

For Canadian manufacturers facing legacy equipment, labour shortages, or shifting production demands from reshoring and supply-chain realignment, a roadmap matters more than ever. The goal isn’t to automate everything at once. The goal is to strategically build the right foundation and scale intelligently.

Canada’s naval identity was forged in the cold, unforgiving, North Atlantic.

Fought largely by reservists in small ships built in Canada and operating from Canadian bases, the defence of the North Atlantic trade route against a menacing submarine fleet defined a critical naval role for Canada within a much larger alliance.

By the war's end, the Royal Canadian Navy emerged as the world’s leading anti-submarine warfare navy - A/S, or ASW as it’s now known within NATO.

This reputation was hard-earned.

We honour the thousands of sailors, merchant mariners, and airmen who lost their lives during the longest campaign of the Second World War.

The Battle of the Atlantic (BOA) ceremony takes place Sunday, May 3, at 10:30 am, at Point Pleasant Park (Halifax Memorial).

We'll be there.
