Over the last couple of weeks the workshop has seen travellers from all over the world stop in to give their hand a try at blacksmithing! What a fantastic time! I had nearly as much fun as them! 🔥 ⚒️

Earlier this year I felt inspired to make a fireplace crane, an item I’d never made before. I was very happy with the result and especially with the method I used to make it. I brought it to Hags on the Hill expecting it would sit there for a year or even two before the right buyer came along. Really…who is looking for a fireplace crane for their giant fireplace?? Turns out one guy was! After just a few weeks a gentleman from Ontario dropped in and was thrilled to find exactly what he’d been looking for!

He was kind enough to get in touch with me after it was installed to share how thrilled he continues to be with my work.

I don’t often get to see my work after people bring home and I was very proud to see this piece in place doing the job I’d intended it to do!
