Today, London Rubber Stamp Company is nestled in with other businesses on Halifax's Kempt Road. Inside, lasers cut through metals and burn away rubber, while computers process images and designs. It's a far cry from 1884, when a recent British immigrant decided to set up his rubber stamp company. Delatore, he had arrived that year from London and decided to name his company after the city he'd lef

t. Delatore grew his company. In that time there would be the first World War and the Halifax explosion. And through that, the company grew. In retiring, Mr. Delatore passed ownership of LRS Co. to the Courtney family. It is through the linage of the Courtney family that the current owners came into possession of the company. Currently run by brothers Joseph and Raymond Comeau, LRS Co. has been in operation for over 130 years. And while lasers and computers do many of the jobs, there are still many handcrafted elements of the trade. Under Joseph and Raymond, LRS Co. continues to offer the same selection of products that Mr. Delatore would have offered but with a few new exceptions. Beyond stamps and seals, LRS Co. has a full line of trophies and award medals. Ribbons, plaques, giftware, and other promotional products. A Halifax institution, London Rubber Stamp Company has been serving Atlantic Canadians since 1884.

It's that TIME of the year again 🕒 So don't forget to set your analog clocks ahead one hour, again. It seems like we do this every year! But did you know that for the first 34 years of London Rubber Stamp Company being in business there was no Daylight Saving Time?! That's right. We opened our doors back in 1884 and Halifax wouldn't adopt DST until 1918! 😯
