This week we hosted a wonderful celebration of the NSERC Chair for Women in Science and Engineering - Atlantic Region, and founder of WISEatlantic, Dr. Tamara Franz-Odendaal. Seeing and hearing from others how much Dr. Franz-Odendaal and WISEatlantic have impacted so many within the Atlantic region and beyond was truly inspirational.

A HUGE thank you to all who were able to attend the event, as well as all the team members, sponsors, partners, role models, and participants who've contributed so much to our program over the last 12 years.

Do you know a youth in junior high or high school who's interested in science? Registration for the upcoming 'MSVU Science Circle' focused on nutrition is open! The event will take place on Wednesday, May 17 from 6:15 – 7:30 p.m. (meet in Evaristus Hall, room 131).

Join Jillian Ruhl for an ‘eggcellent’ evening in the Community Garden! What to ‘eggspect’? During this event, participants will get to play with the campus hens while learning about the nutritional properties of eggs, egg types and food labels (for example, the differences between “free range”, “free run”, “organic”, “enriched”, etc.) within the Canadian egg industry, and the basics of backyard hen keeping.

The event is free for students in grades 7-12. Spots are available on a first come first serve basis, and your spot will be confirmed by email.
