But what most owners don’t realize is how much of that air never actually makes it where it’s supposed to go.

Rooftop units are everywhere in Canadian commercial buildings.

They’re also one of the least controlled systems.

Most run on basic thermostats:

Too cold → heat turns on
Too hot → cooling turns on

That’s it.

No awareness of occupancy.
No control of ventilation.
No coordination across sites.

In Canada, that means constantly heating cold air in winter and cooling hot air in summer, often when it’s not needed.
