Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Retraite en Action to Tulmar for a tour of our facility.

What a pleasure it was to bring together community, innovation, and Canadian expertise. Visits like these leave us feeling even prouder of the work we do every day.

At Tulmar Safety Systems, we believe supporting mental health means creating an environment where employees feel supported, heard, and valued every day.

As part of an initiative led by our Employee Committee, we recently introduced a new outdoor Zen Space where employees can recharge and enjoy a quiet moment during their breaks.

We also established a dedicated Mental Health First Aid team made up of employees from across departments. Trained through the Mental Health Commission of Canada, this team is there to listen, support, and help guide employees toward the right resources in a confidential and approachable way.

We’re encouraged to see that the need for mental health support identified in our employee survey has decreased compared to last year, while engagement with our Employee Assistance Program continues to grow. Tulmar’s utilization reached 22.34%, compared to 5.85% industry-wide and 9.57% across Canada.

Creating a healthy workplace is an ongoing commitment, and we’re proud of the initiatives our employees continue to lead.

We inaugurated Tulmar’s Sewing Academy on Friday, with our first graduating cohort.

In just four weeks, graduates developed the specialized skills needed to produce life-saving equipment. Today, they join our team full-time.

We built this program to address a shortage of skilled sewing talent while supporting our growth and the future of Canadian defence manufacturing.

Last week, Team Tulmar hit the ice at the 48th Annual Industrial Bonspiel hosted by the Alexandria Curling Club!

Representing Tulmar Safety Systems were Austin, Hannah, Daniella, and Nelson, who proudly took part in this community tradition alongside fellow local businesses and organizations.

Thank you to the Alexandria Curling Club for organizing a fantastic event and to everyone who made it such an enjoyable day. We’re proud to support and participate in events that bring our community together.

As came to a close, we gathered on Friday for a special team lunch featuring traditional cuisine prepared by Dennis, a talented local chef. It was a meaningful way to celebrate culture, connection, and this year’s theme: Black Excellence: Rising Beyond Barriers.

Throughout the month, we had the opportunity to listen, learn, and reflect. Black excellence is about achievement, resilience, leadership, creativity, and community.
