Check this out. This was a tight site on all accounts to replace this septic system. First we pumped and decomissioned the old tank, then excavated for the new tank. After that we slipped the new tank inbetween the house and the detached garage. Once the tank was set and connected for the homeowners, I moved on to the weeping bed excavation. The only room for the bed to be replaced on this site was just where the tennis court happened to be. So I removed that. Then I prepared the excavation for inspection. Then it snowed. Once that was complete we moved on to getting the material to the weeping bed. Well, the triaxles wouldn't fit passed the side of the garage. So I laced the driveway with 3/4" plywood to dump the septic sand on and then reload my mini dumper and back it around the side of the garage to weeping bed. First, I had to trim some trees to get my mini dumper in. On top of that one of Moran's trucks was 3 of mine! I had to hustle between rounds. Once we got all the sand in I moved on to the weeping bed installation, then trenched in the forcemain to connect the pump chamber to the distribution box, installed the frost protection and backfilled. Time for the installation inspection, passed. Then the snow melted, it was awesome! We were able to haul in the topsoil and do the grading! Final inspection. Passed.

Here are a few photos of a pond I did back in 2020.

Last year the homeowners asked me to come back and help them with their pond overflow. We converted the overflow swale from surface drainage to underground.

I was able to bring a 6 inch tile from the pond to the municipal ditch by the road. Now, once the pond reaches the tile invert, it will drain to the ditch. I was also able to pick up their 4' weeper tile from there basement and tie it into the 6' tile that brings it to the road as well.


I also brought a few loads of screened topsoil in to get more cover on the 6' tile and touch up a few low areas.

This is a replacement septic I designed and installed for a 5 bedroom home.

I decided to go with the Eljen GSF for this dwelling and lot. I was able to keep this system gravity by raising the sewage outlet from the house (eliminating a pumpchamber). Also going with the Eljen GSF because of its shallow vertical seperation from underside of excavation to underside of distribution pipe. This system blended in beautifully matching exsisting grade and opening to a nice deep ditch.

Here are some photos of a replacement septic I installed for a homeowner last summer.

This is a fully raised conventional septic system that is pressurized. The design called for the bed to be much further from the home, it would have made the system look like a large hump in the corner of the lot. I suggested to the homeowner we slide the bed closer to the house so it would blend it better. We did so while respecting all the clearance requirements of the OBC. Even though this is a fully raised system I must say it blends in well.

One of my septic installs from last year.

When I quoted this septic design for my client it was presurized by design. Once I reviewed the design and preformed a site visit I knew I could change this to a gravity fed system for my clients while staying within the OBC requirements and I did. This lowered the cost of the installation and removed a moving part from the equation. I was also able to help tweak a few things and adjust the sewage outlet giving the plumbers more leeway to gain fall and help with interior plumbing(keeping the bathroom in the designed location).

Design-Dig-Doze-Drone.

Check out this B Moore On Grade pond! Here are a few drone shots from start to finish.

These clients hired me to excavate a one acre pond, where I reallocated the generated material to grade a little over two acres surrounding the pond.

The native material was clay, perfect for a pond excavation sealing the water in. Its 16' deep in the deepest section with an average depth of 10'. This pond has two inlet swales lined with riprap to prevent erosion, along with an outlet swale that is also lined with riprap to control the maximum water elevation of the pond.

This was such a fun project to design - dig - doze- drone & accomplish. I am not going to lie, I am looking forward to my next pond project.
