Today, we observe Red Dress Day in honour of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people across Canada.

As an Indigenous-owned company working in communities throughout British Columbia, we recognize that this crisis is not confined to any one place; it is a national issue rooted in systemic inequities that continue to impact Indigenous peoples across the country.

While much of our work takes place in regions such as the Highway of Tears, the significance of this day extends far beyond geography. It is reflected in the lived realities of the communities we work with and alongside, and in the ongoing calls for justice, accountability, and meaningful change.

We stand with families, communities, and advocates in honouring lives, raising awareness, and supporting a future where Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people are safe, respected, and valued, today and every day.

🚧 Project Update – Site C Road Building & Infrastructure Development 🚧

From late July through mid-November, Marwest helped deliver critical road infrastructure upgrades at Site C as part of the WM–Marwest team under contract with BC Hydro.

Valued at $8.5M, the project focused on the reconstruction and upgrading of permanent dam roads and sections of North Bank Road, building durable infrastructure that will support safe and reliable dam operations for decades to come.

🔍 Scope of Work
Crews completed excavation and preparation of existing road surfaces, granular embankment construction, drainage upgrades, and asphalt paving. The project also included culvert removals, embankment reconstruction, riprap handling, and the installation and reinstatement of roadway signage and infrastructure.

💼 Project Management
Beyond construction, Marwest led the coordination of subcontractors, site access logistics, haul restrictions, and internal road maintenance, ensuring work progressed safely and efficiently within a complex operating environment. The team maintained oversight of schedule, subcontractor performance, quality control, and financial tracking throughout the project.

🌿 Reclamation
Alongside roadbuilding, crews reclaimed former work areas with topsoil placement and natural mulch, helping return the land to a stable and healthy condition.

🤝 Workforce & Partnership
The project workforce included 20% Indigenous team members, with 100% of equipment and support infrastructure affiliated with West Moberly First Nations.
