Last job before we left St. Lucia was a concrete pad for the new outdoor shower at the Drunken Lizard bar. Just three steps up with a changing area before the last step, It will be finished with a tin roof, Bamboo and plant life to complete the enclosure.
It’ll be a while before we get back to this one since we only go there once a year but it was exciting to get it started! 🎋😁🌴

On the last days of 2023 just after Christmas the water was so low I took the opportunity to get started with this new section of the tiebacks and retaining wall on the rivers edge.
I had enough material in my reserve to do 20 feet with a couple of 6 foot tiebacks with 4’ crossties crossing the tieback and 1” pins sunk 3-4’ deep through the sleepers which are bottom row of tiebacks and retaining wall. The best part is when the water comes back in spring the wall is already high enough that I can just continue working without daming the water.
I have been building stuff for most of my life but working next to something that’s alive like a river is a definitely a different mindset and one thing I learned is if she gives you a chance to do a task like this with no resistance you gotta take it!
