As we approach the end of the year, here is a final Easy-O project update!

Easy-O is a project aiming to create a portable, low-cost, and low-maintenance oxygenator that can run autonomously for over 12 hours without electricity. Operated on Raspberry-Pi and controlled via a user-friendly app, it will provide real-time patient data. The app offers manual and automatic modes, displaying oxygen saturation, pulse, and flow rate. The physical components were 3D-printed and interconnected with tubing, and all the components are kept together in a waterproof case.

We are so proud of the Easy-O team and the amazing prototype they've created!

As we approach the end of the year, here is a final IV Tutor project update!

IV Tutor is a project aiming to address common failures in intravenous therapy (IV) by improving insertion techniques, using a low-cost educational tool. It involves a 3D-printed forearm designed with neoprene fabric at the incision spot to simulate skin. The arm is used in conjunction with a virtual guidance system, which uses a we**am and ArUco markers for 3D tracking of needle movement, and a simulated vein, made with electrical circuits.

We are so proud of the IV team and the amazing prototype they've created!

The IV electrical sub-team has been working to define an IV insertion using electronic components. Using a microcontroller, the IV Tutor can provide users with confirmation of a successful insertion and warnings of an improper insertion. Our next steps are transferring the electronics into our model arm and developing actuation strategies to randomize the vein's position.
