BREAKING NEWS
Don Lacina (pictured below) started out with Carl Leis at 21 years old. Carl started an Explosive Company back in 1976 and Don was his right-hand man. He was then integrated into Old Time Stove and once everyone saw how good he was they wouldn't let him leave, and from there to Amber Steel, and he had an amazing mechanical mind and could almost fix anything. He was our plant supervisor and was that until he retired.
Dan Currie (also pictured below) started with Old Time Stove, and was also integrated into Amber Steel, Dan worked in the shop for many years, then transferred to the front office for sales and eventually took over the responsibility of our biggest account. Which he did a superb job. Dan would come into work in the morning are start telling me (Carl) of his plans to cook up a storm. He was very good at putting things together, using ways of cooking that always had me starving by the time lunch time rolled around, Dan could have and should have been a chef.
Dan and Don liked to play practical jokes each other, as well as other employees, one of their favorite pranks for a new employee, was to send them looking for a “Steel Stretcher”,
