Neptune Terminals project in North Vancouver. A tandem dumper facility that simultaneously flips two rail cars to unload coal at high speed.
This wasn't your standard PEMB build. We delivered a hybrid pre-engineered structure with hot-rolled secondary steel (not typical) to support a large-scale crane system with explosion-proof motors and specialized air handling for dust management. The paint system was engineered specifically to resist corrosion from coal and potash exposure.
The real challenge? They had some dewatering issues (they are right near the water) that delayed our start date, putting us into tight site conditions between active rail tracks that had to stay operational throughout construction. Our solution: day and night shifts synchronized with rail shutdown windows when trains weren't moving through.
Building critical infrastructure while the facility operates around you. That's where planning and precision separate reliable partners from project delays.
