Project Controller – Mining Sector (Lanigan, SK)

We are seeking a skilled Project Controller to join our team in the Lanigan area, supporting critical mining projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring effective cost management, accurate forecasting, and timely reporting to drive project success.

Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and site personnel to implement robust project cost controls
• Track operational costs, monitor budgets, and forecast project spend to completion
• Prepare and deliver accurate financial reports and analyses for project and portfolio managers
• Participate in meetings with stakeholders, including site and corporate teams, to align on project goals
• Support operations, finance, and executive teams with data-driven insights
• Contribute to project planning and ex*****on to ensure timely and successful completion

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or certification in finance, accounting, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• 1–2 years of experience in project cost control, accounting, or finance roles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to learn specialized finance/project software
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with diverse stakeholders
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage tight deadlines
• Collaborative team player who can also work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations and adapt to changing priorities
• Willingness to work on-site at a mining project office

Preferred Skills:
• Experience in the mining or construction industry
• Familiarity with project management tools or ERP systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive work ethic

On behalf of a site owner in the mining sector, we are currently seeking candidates for the position of a Project Manager in the Lanigan area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for project support and coordination. Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Develop and execute Underground Capital Projects including scope, schedule, budget, and risk
- Manage projects within the site owner’s Project Management Framework
- Develop project scope with appropriate stakeholders
- Secure project materials and resources by utilizing the site owner’s procurement process
- Perform field visits to coordinate material and labor resources and ensure work is safely progressing according to plan
- Monitor and forecast project budget and schedule to ensure plans are on track
- Identify and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle
- Meet specific project KPI’s as required
- Engage with relevant project stakeholders including project reporting to management
- Perform Continuous Improvement of the Project Management Process

To be successful in this position, we are looking for a candidate that can offer:
- Post-secondary education in a relevant technical field
- A PMP or CAPM designation is not required but considered an asset
- Maintenance, project, and/or operational experience at an operating facility or a heavy industrial site is considered an asset
- Direct experience in underground potash is considered an asset
- Efficient use of Microsoft 365 Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
- Proficiency in the use of a variety of software programs
- Demonstrated positive safety behavior and safety leadership; demonstrated a high level of commitment to creating a safe working environment
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to be flexible in managing changing priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to contribute effectively within a team and excel in a team environment
- Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, problem solving, organizational skills, and detail oriented
