Big news for the future of the Rob Jüng’s Youth Welding Project.

I’m very happy to announce that WeldCor Supplies Canada will be partnering with the program moving forward.

From the beginning, the goal has been to create a place where youth can safely learn welding, metalworking, problem solving and creativity through real hands-on experience. Weldcor sees the value in that vision, and their goals align closely with what I’ve been working toward here in Hudson Bay.

With Weldcor’s support, along with the continued weekly contributions from parents, the program is now in a position where it can continue long term as a break-even program. That is a huge step forward and takes away a lot of the uncertainty surrounding sustainability.

I will still continue applying for grants and additional funding opportunities to help upgrade equipment and expand what the students have access to. Combined with the support and contributions already coming from many other companies and community members, the future of this program is looking very positive.

Thank you to everyone who has supported, encouraged, donated, shared posts, supplied materials, equipment, PPE, consumables, or simply believed in what these students are capable of building. This program has grown far beyond what I originally imagined, and this partnership is another major step forward.
