A single study visit rarely involves just the patient.

Time off work. Travel. Childcare. Coordinating schedules. For caregiver-dependent populations, every visit can ripple through an entire household.

And the burden isn’t only in the planning. A delayed flight. Transfer complications. A last-minute change. One unexpected obstacle can quickly turn an already demanding journey into a moment when participation feels like too much.

Behind every study visit is a family trying to make it work.

The Stiris Patient Caregiver Liaison (PCL) Program provides a dedicated, non-clinical point of contact to help patients and families navigate the journey with guidance, support, and continuity.

Not replacing the site. Complementing it—so families feel supported while sites and sponsors maintain visibility.

The people behind the protocol are the reason it works.

Every clinical trial is defined by its protocol. Before the first patient is enrolled, investigators, clinical scientists, ethics committees, and regulatory authorities review, challenge, and refine it. Every visit and every assessment is carefully considered to protect patients and preserve the integrity of the research.

But no protocol can anticipate every conversation, every concern, or every challenge that unfolds once a study begins. It can't account for the parent coordinating appointments, the caregiver balancing competing responsibilities, or the study coordinator finding solutions to keep a patient engaged.

In rare disease, neuromuscular, and pediatric research, participation extends far beyond the patient. It involves caregivers, families, and research sites working together, often for months or years, to make every visit possible.

That's what this series is about. Over the next four weeks, we'll explore what happens beyond the protocol and why supporting the people who make it possible is essential to engagement, retention, and study success.

🧡 To every patient who has participated in a clinical study: you have moved science forward.

🧡 To every caregiver who showed up every day: you made this journey more human.

🧡 To every researcher and healthcare professional who persevered through every challenge: because of you, we are one step closer to better treatments.

On , we take a moment to recognize the people at the heart of this work.

At Stiris Research, we are committed to advancing clinical research because of the people who make it possible.

Hope in is not just a feeling. It is built: one clinical trial, one patient, and one answered question at a time.

research isn't short on innovation. It's short on clinical trials designed to prove that innovation works.

In Chapter 4 of , Carrie Hamilton, Executive Director of Clinical Science, explores where research is headed. From combination therapies and precision patient selection to adaptive trial designs, read why operational ex*****on has become an essential part of the science itself.

Glioblastoma (GBM) standard of care hasn't changed in two decades. Not because no one's tried. Because the biology itself keeps outsmarting the science.

In Chapter 1 of , we break down why this tumor remains one of oncology's hardest problems to solve and why understanding that complexity is the starting point for designing trials that actually work.

Great research starts with great people, and great people never stop learning.

This year, Hannah Cay, Isabella Carrera, and Melissa Hubbard represented us at the ACRP - Association of Clinical Research Professionals Annual Conference, diving into conversations about quality, innovation, and what it really takes to advance clinical research.

Three team members. New perspectives. Stronger clinical research.

June 21st is Global ALS Awareness Day - and it matters.

ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that gradually takes away a person's ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe. There is still no cure.

Every 90 minutes, someone receives an ALS diagnosis. Behind each one is a person, a family, and a community that needs support.

Today, we stand with those living with ALS, their caregivers, and the researchers working tirelessly to change the story of this disease.

Together, we can make a difference.
