Did You Know? At Convertus, we are closing the loop by transforming organic waste into renewable resources. A vital part of this mission is our state-of-the-art odour abatement system at the Convertus York Biofuel Facility.

The facility is designed to stay under constant negative air pressure, ensuring air is drawn inside and treated through a sophisticated multi-stage process. This trip includes acid scrubbers, thermal oxidizers, and an extra layer of protection using dust filters, UV-C light, and activated carbon to destroy odour-causing molecules before they are dispersed as harmless water vapour. Combined with real-time environmental monitoring, these measures allow for proactive adjustments to ensure we remain a responsible and sustainable neighbour.

Connecting with our neighbours and sharing our passion for the circular economy is the highlight of what we do. We spent the day engaging in fantastic conversations about local sustainability and were happy to provide compost bags to help everyone take their next green step at home.

May 9th is Compost Awareness Day at Convertus Manassas! Get a behind-the-scenes look at the Manassas facility's compost process and connect with local vendors to find out more about what sustainable composting is all about!

At Convertus, we are committed to closing the loop and turning organic waste into high-quality resources. We are proud to partner with the Prince William County Government, Virginia Solid Waste Division, to host the annual Compost Awareness Day.

Join us on May 9 to explore the vital role composting plays in soil health and environmental sustainability. This event is an excellent opportunity to see our composting operations in action and connect with local environmental leaders.

Happy Earth Day! 🌎 In celebration of Earth Day and Earth Month, the Convertus Team rolled up their sleeves to participate in London Clean & Green’s 20-minute Neighbourhood Clean-up.

From all across our North American sites, our team members stepped outside to clear litter and care for the local environments we call home. At Convertus, our mission is to close the loop on waste every day, but today was a great reminder that big change starts with small, collective actions right in our own backyards.

As the 2026 Forest Capital of Canada, we’re celebrating by giving away over 2,000 free trees on Earth Day, your chance to add life, shade, and beauty to your home, while helping grow our urban forest.

- Where: Carling Heights Optimist Community Centre
- Time: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Bonus: One free bag of Green Bin compost per vehicle (while supplies last)
- Limit: 2 trees per vehicle, while supplies last
