There’s more to the Model 204 than meets the eye.

From the street, it’s a quiet, modern home. Step inside and the plan opens up: shared living at the heart of the house, with sleeping areas tucked away on their own.

That clean separation between living and sleeping makes it ideal for families, friends, and anyone who loves having people around without giving up their own space.

So this long weekend, picture it. A primary residence where everyone has room to breathe, or the vacation property your whole crew will want to come back to.

Floor plans and pricing drop next week. 👀

Pavilion Lake, BC.

If you know, you know. Turquoise water, dry hills, big sky — one of the most quietly spectacular places in the province. And about as far from a hardware store as you can get while still being in British Columbia.

This was a dream build. The kind of lot that makes you stop mid-sentence when you first see it. The kind of place that deserves a home built with real intention.

Remote locations like this used to mean one of two things: a long, painful conventional build that stretched budgets and timelines well past the point of fun — or settling for something that didn’t match the land.

We don’t think those are the only options.

Our team partnered with the owner and delivered a home we call loved. By the time it arrived on site, the hard work was already done — high-performance envelope, triple-glazed windows, heat pump, HRV, every detail finished to the same standard we’d hold ourselves to on any project, anywhere.

The creature comforts didn’t get left behind because the lot was remote. That’s the whole point.

Beautiful place. Beautiful home. Built the right way.

Today is Truth and Reconciliation Day.

For us, it’s a day of reflection.

Good Way Homes is Indigenous-owned and led — built on values we heard from Elders long before this company existed. To live and operate in a good way. With honour. With integrity. With responsibility to the people and the land that came before and will come after us.

We recognize the past. The harm that was done. The relationships that were broken. And we commit — not just today — to being part of building something better. Together.

To every Indigenous community, family, and individual: we see you. We walk alongside you.

Fall is coming. And for most homes, that means the furnace kicks on, the drafts start showing up, the windows fog, and the heating bill climbs toward something you’d rather not think about.

Not in a Step Code 5 home.

When the temperature drops, a high-performance envelope doesn’t fight the cold — it simply doesn’t let it in. Triple-glazed windows. A continuous air barrier with no gaps, no weak points. Dense-pack insulation that performs the same on day one as it does in year twenty. The result isn’t just a lower heating bill — it’s a home that stays at the temperature you set it to, room to room, all winter.

No moisture migrating through your walls. No condensation collecting where you can’t see it. No mould. Fresh, filtered air circulating through an HRV system that knows the difference between the air inside and the air outside.

It’s a different experience of winter entirely.

And on that note — we have something new we’ve been working on and we can’t wait to show you properly.

This is a first look. More very soon.

Fall is officially in the air!

And somewhere in the back of your mind, there’s a place — a lake, an island, a clearing in the trees — where you spent some time this summer that you haven’t stopped thinking about.

What if you were going back?

Not someday. Not in three years when the build finally wraps. This time next year.

The Model 202 is 1,330 square feet of everything you actually need — open plan kitchen, dining and living that flows onto a covered deck, two bedrooms, two and a half baths, quiet on the side that matters. Single storey. One level. The kind of home that works as hard as you’ve worked to earn the lot it sits on.

Here’s what makes it different from every other build conversation you’ve had:

Three factory-built modules built in our climate-controlled facility in Malakwa while your foundation is being prepared on site. Two workstreams running in parallel. Net Zero ready envelope. Triple-glazed windows. Heat pump and HRV. Board and batten siding. Standing seam metal roof. CSA A277 certified. 2-5-10 home warranty.

Four to six months from deposit to delivery.

A fixed scope. A clear budget. No surprises.

The clarity that’s been missing from every other conversation about building in the places you love most — remote lots, island properties, anywhere conventional construction runs out of steam before it gets started.

You already found the place. The home is the easy part.

This is what a site visit on Galiano Island looks like.

That’s the Salish Sea through the treeline. That’s the kind of lot that stops you mid-sentence when you first walk it — the kind that makes you understand immediately why someone bought it, and why they couldn’t wait any longer to build on it.

Here’s the honest reality of building on the Gulf Islands without prefab:

The islands are stunning. They are also, from a construction standpoint, genuinely hard. Ferry schedules dictate when materials arrive. Trades are scarce — the pool of qualified framers, electricians, and plumbers working in this region is small, and the demand for their time far outpaces the supply. A conventional site-built home on a lot like this, starting today, would have been a 2027 project. Realistically, 2028. Two or three summers gone before keys in hand. And every delay brings the kind of cost creep that’s hard to predict and harder to absorb.

We’re breaking ground on this property later this month.

The home will be delivered in months not years.

That’s not a rounding error — that’s a fundamentally different build method. While the site is being prepared on Galiano, the home is being manufactured in our Malakwa facility. Two workstreams running at the same time. The envelope, the insulation, the air barrier, the wall assemblies — all built in a controlled environment, on a documented schedule, to CSA A277 certified quality standards. By the time the crane shows up, the home is ready.

The Gulf Islands don’t need to be hard to build on. They need a build method that was designed for exactly this — remote, beautiful, logistically complex locations where conventional construction falls apart before it starts.

This one’s going to be something.

The wall gets all the attention. The window is where you lose the game.

You can build a 9.5” Larsen wall packed with dense-pack cellulose, tape every joint perfectly, and still fall short of Step Code 5 if the fenestration isn’t doing its job. A window is a hole in your envelope — the question is how well you close it.

That’s why we specify Innotech Windows and Doors on our high-performance builds. Canadian-made, Passive House Institute certified — the kind of product that earns its place in a wall system we’ve spent years getting right.

The light still comes in. The heat stays where you put it.

That’s the whole point.
