Floor machines with DC motors use carbon brushes that wear out over time. That’s normal. But in most machines, there’s no easy way to tell when they need replacing. If you miss it, it can cause serious damage to the motor.

The Rabbit-3 has a small indicator light on the motor shroud that tells you when the carbon brushes need changing. Think of it like the oil change light in your car. When it comes on, it’s time.

The brushes only need replacing about every 10 years, they’re easy to swap out, and they’re inexpensive. It’s a small feature that can save you from a big repair.

If you’ve ever had dirty water spray all over the walls and baseboards while running a floor machine, you know how frustrating cleanup can be. You finish the floor and then spend extra time wiping down everything around it.

The Centaur SplashGuard is built into every Rabbit-1, Rabbit-3, and Stonechat. Turn three k***s and the SplashGuard drops down to enclose the floor pad and pad driver, keeping the messy mixture of chemicals, wax, and slurry trapped underneath the machine. Not on your walls. Not on furniture. Not on display cases.

Without one, your only option is lining walls and furniture with plastic sheeting before you start. Depending on the size of the job, that alone can add hours.

Power cords wear out. On the Rabbit-3, replacing one takes about 10 seconds. Just twist, pull, and swap in a new one. No service call needed.

The best part of any job is that last look before you pack up.

Everything is done. The floors are clean. The equipment is wiped down and loaded. You take one last walk through the building and everything looks exactly the way it should.

Nobody else is going to see what it looked like before you got there. But you know. And that’s what makes it worth it.

You know you’ve been doing floors too long when you walk into a grocery store and immediately look down to check what kind of finish they’re using.

Or when you see a scuff mark in a hotel lobby and you’re already thinking about which pad would take it out.

Or when someone says “the floors look clean” and you think “they could look better.”

This job changes the way you see every building you walk into. You can’t turn it off

If your floor machine isn’t cutting through old wax like it used to, you might not need a new machine. You might just need more weight.

Adding weight to your floor machine gives it more downward pressure on the pad. That means more contact, more scrubbing power, and fewer passes to get the job done.

The Rabbit-3 can handle up to 80 lbs of extra weight. On a heavy strip job, that kind of added pressure can cut your scrubbing time in half.

Before you make more passes, try adding weight first. It’s one of those simple changes that makes a big difference.

If you’re not taking before and after photos of your floor work, you’re leaving money on the table.

A good before and after does more selling than any pitch ever could. Property managers, building owners, facility directors. They all respond to the same thing. Show them a dirty floor and then show them what it looks like when you’re done.

It takes 10 seconds to pull out your phone and snap a picture before you start. Do the same thing when you’re finished. That’s your portfolio. That’s your proof. That’s what gets you the next contract.

The work speaks for itself. You just have to capture it.

If your floors look streaky after scrubbing, it’s usually not the machine. It’s the pickup.

When dirty water sits on the floor too long after scrubbing, it dries in uneven patches. That’s what causes those streaks and hazy spots that show up once the floor is dry.

The fix is simple. Pick up the dirty water right after you scrub. Don’t let it sit. Run your wet/dry vac right after scrubbing, and recover the water while it’s still fresh on the surface.

The faster the pickup, the cleaner the result.

You plug in your floor machine and nothing happens. Before you panic, check the outlet.

It’s more common than you’d think. Blown fuses, tripped breakers, dead outlets. Especially in older buildings where the electrical hasn’t been updated in years. You can waste 20 minutes thinking something is wrong with your machine when the problem is the wall.

Try a different outlet. If the machine fires up, you’ve got your answer.

This is actually why we put a power indicator light on the Rabbit-3. It lights up as soon as the machine is connected to a working outlet. If you plug in and the light doesn’t come on, you know right away it’s the outlet, not the machine. No guessing, no wasted time.

Small feature. Saves a lot of headaches.
