A new report from the National Safety Council (NSC) has unveiled injury and fatality data associated with OSHA’s Top 10 most‑cited workplace safety standards for Fiscal Year 2026, shared at the ASSP Safety Conference & Expo.
Many of these top‑cited violations happen within warehouse material‑handling operations, where forklift‑related hazards remain a leading cause of workplace incidents. Blind corners, narrow aisles, pedestrian‑forklift intersections and busy loading zones create constant collision risks for on‑site teams.
These statistics remind us that generic safety approaches often fall short in real‑world warehouse environments. Effective safety cannot depend solely on theoretical standards or product datasheets.
Risk‑mitigation measures must align with a facility’s unique layout, daily workflows and known hazard points, to keep both forklift operators and on‑foot personnel protected.
Understanding these official statistics helps facility managers prioritize risk reduction and build safer working environments.
