To our loyal customers,
Thank you for your patience as we work through a continuously growing list of service calls. We understand how uncomfortable it can be to be without air conditioning during these record-high temperatures, and we're doing everything we can to keep up with demand and get to everyone as quickly as possible.
If you're experiencing air conditioning problems, here are a few things you can check before calling:
• Check your furnace filter. A dirty filter can restrict airflow and cause your indoor evaporator coil to freeze. If you have little or no airflow from your vents, turn off the air conditioner and run the furnace fan for several hours to help thaw the coil. We cannot properly diagnose a system with a frozen coil, and a second service visit may be required if the unit is not thawed before our arrival.
• Use a basic filter. Higher-efficiency filters can sometimes restrict airflow and negatively affect system performance. In most homes, a standard pleated filter works well. If allergies are a concern, be sure to change your filter regularly.
• Inspect the outdoor unit. Dirt, grass clippings, and debris can build up on the outdoor coil and reduce efficiency. Turn off the breaker to the unit and gently rinse the coil with a garden hose. Avoid using a pressure washer, as it can damage the fins. Your air conditioner removes heat from your home and releases it outdoors, so keeping the outdoor coil clean is important for proper operation.
We appreciate your understanding and support as we work through this busy season. Stay cool, and we'll be there as soon as we can.
