The original fireplace was finished in stone, which we removed as part of this renovation and replaced with tile. Because the existing flooring had been previously scribed to fit the stone surround during an earlier renovation we completed at this home, it no longer worked with the new fireplace profile. We removed the affected flooring and custom-fabricated new pieces to achieve a clean, tight fit to the tiled fireplace.

A little unexpected visitor on site today 🪶

Shane (Laporte Surfaces) made a new friend after we found this woodpecker sitting dazed outside the door—likely after a run-in with the glass. It spent a few quiet minutes perched in his hand, catching its bearings, before flying off like nothing happened.

Just a reminder that even on the busiest build days, nature has a way of slowing things down for a moment.
