The thermostat gets blamed for a lot of problems it did not cause.
A home can be heating properly and still feel uncomfortable when the indoor air is too dry. Itchy skin, static shocks, and rooms that feel cooler than the thermostat says can all follow.
Turning the heat higher may use more energy without solving the dry-air problem.
A properly maintained whole-home humidifier can help the heat feel comfortable at a more reasonable setting. The water panel and drain line need attention too, or that little add-on gets ignored until it stops helping.
Do you use a whole-home humidifier, or do you keep portable units moving from room to room?
