Hard-wearing and reliable, our Safe-T-Spin rod spinner offers one of the widest ranges in the drilling industry, able to take from 2″ up to 6 5/8″ Rod or Casing using the same set of jaws. Not only does this provide efficiency in the field, but it can be retrofitted to most rigs and is fully interchangeable with older designs, enabling savings to the rig operations.

• Capable of accepting 2” - 6 ⅝” rod/casing
• Self-centering 3-jaw design
• Mounted on a fully floating support arm that prevents weight from resting on the threads, helping reduce premature wear
• Swings out of the way when not in use
• Solid 4mm steel construction including locator funnel

The MPL14230-2 rotation head features a simple design that allows for easy maintenance and reliable operation.

This rotation unit has proven its reliability and performance since the UDR 200DLS drills. It’s a “P” size rotation unit with chuck drive and hollow spindle; capable of handling B to P/HWT coring drill rods with ease. Now also available in a top drive configuration to suit an even wider range of drilling applications.

Available as an option for the DE710 and DE712.

Key features include:
• Chuck drive and hollow spindle design for efficient rod handling
• Stepless speed control from 0–1,500 RPM
• High–low manual gear change
• Fully automatic torque–speed control

The DA555 & DA554 Rod Loaders

Key features include:
• Clamping cup system for secure rod control
• Upper and lower aligners for precise handling
• Remote hands-free rod loading integrated with the breakout tool

Building on the proven DA554 platform, the DA555 extends capability to include coring drill rods. With its clamping cup system, aligners, custom starter rods, and replaceable rod jaws, it allows the more delicate coring rods to be handled with the same efficiency and safety as RC and flush joint rotary drill rods.

A UDR1200/DE880/DE881 DA555 Rod Handler is currently available for sale.

Following last week’s UNB Engineering Design Symposium, we want to congratulate all the students on their final projects!
