Our Story
Tikal Construction Ltd was originally founded in 1987 in Thunder Bay, Ontario. After constructing a wide variety of industrial, commercial and institutional buildings across the vast Canadian Shield of Northwestern Ontario, the company moved west and was incorporated in British Columbia in March 2001. From our home base in Mission BC, Tikal primarily operates in the Fraser Valley and greater Vancouver. We do however manage projects throughout BC and across the country for select clients.
After more than 30 years in the business, safe building practices remain a top priority on Tikal projects. We are a safety oriented company building efficiently and safely on all of our sites. Norm Olson, the president of the company is a red seal carpenter, professional quantity surveyor and a gold seal certified estimator who brings many years of project management experience to the team approach that Tikal maintains on all projects. Rounding out the team in the office are Shiro Olson, public relations and business development, Matthew Taylor project coordinator and Amber Still who oversees accounting and office administration. With experienced superintendents in the field, the construction process will be safe, professional and efficient when you partner with us.
Tikal is a two time nominee of the Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce Business Awards and we hope to be an Award winner this time around. Thank you to all those who nominated Tikal Construction Ltd. in the Power of Small Category as we are a family owned business making great impact not only in our community but across Canada and the world. On December 10th 2018 a small Team from Tikal Construction will leave to visit two orphanages in Kenya and will deliver dental supplies for the second time, from Clayburn Dental in Abbotsford. Sixty children will receive dental packages on this trip. That number has doubled since 2014 when 30 children received packages. Thank you very much Clayburn Dental for putting a sparkling smile on these joyful faces.
