💡If you're seeing unexpected hot spots inside an enclosure, the cause may be more than just a high ambient temperature.

Potential causes include:

🔸 Poor electrical contact
🔸 Components packed too closely together
🔸 Insufficient heat dissipation
🔸 Components operating close to their load capacity
🔸 Eddy currents and hysteresis losses

For conductors carrying more than 200 A, the arrangement of conductors and surrounding metallic components becomes particularly important.

💡 When individual conductors or busbars carrying current in opposite directions are routed separately, keeping them close together can help minimize magnetic effects and the resulting heat generated by eddy currents.

Good enclosure design isn't just about fitting everything inside — it's about managing heat, spacing and current flow.
