When the blow molding industry needs parts yesterday, our Reverse Engineering Department at 3D Vector steps up. ⏱️
Take a look at this recent challenge on the bench: A client needed a legacy mold component reverse-engineered and prototyped under a brutal deadline. We started by capturing the physical geometry with our high-resolution laser scanners with zero data drift across those complex, critical surfaces.
From there, our engineering team rebuilt the 3D CAD model from the ground up, dialing in the tolerances to a staggering 2-micron accuracy. In the blow molding game, those microns are the difference between a perfect seal and a faulty production run.
Once the digital twin was locked in, we pushed the file straight to our industrial SLA machines. We printed the physical prototype using advanced, high-strength epoxy resins. To save time and ensure absolute dimensional accuracy, we program our print files so the support structures attach directly to the print platform—no thickened base, no pooled resin, just a clean, hyper-accurate print ready for rapid post-processing.
We went from a physical part to a digital twin, to a perfectly printed prototype, and delivered it back to the client with time to spare. Incredibly proud of the speed and precision the team pulled off this week. 🚀
