Join us on Monday, June 22 for an evening seminar on Engineering Synergies of Utility-Scale Energy Storage Systems, Sustainable Infrastructure, and Climate Change Mitigation.

This event will bring together professional engineers from across Ontario to explore how utility-scale energy storage supports sustainable infrastructure, grid modernization, and climate change mitigation through engineering innovation.

The evening will feature keynote remarks from Nasreddine Guerfala, MBA, P.Eng, MASc, CEM, CMVP along with speaker presentations and Q&A with Ferawati Gani, P.Eng., Ph.D. and Kachi A. P.Eng., M.Eng.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with peers while enjoying light refreshments and pizza dinner.

📣 Calling All Engineering Students: Showcase Your Work at the PEO - West Central Symposium 2026

The Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) West Central Region is pleased to invite students to participate in our Symposium, taking place on 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟭𝟯, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, at the 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘁𝘁 𝗧𝗼𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗹. This year’s theme, “Shaping Canada’s Future – Engineering in Action,” will highlight the critical role engineers play in driving innovation, sustainability, and resilience across our communities.

As part of this flagship event, we are excited to host the Student Project Showcase, running in parallel with the main program and exhibit hall. This showcase offers an exceptional platform for students to present their work and engage directly with:

• Professional Engineers
• Engineers‑in‑Training
• Industry leaders
• Academics
• Municipal representatives
• Policymakers

🎓 Why Participate?

• 🏆 Prizes will be awarded to the top three student projects.
• 🎟️ Complimentary symposium tickets will be provided to all student participants.
• 💡 Support for minor presentation expenses (e.g., poster printing) may be available.

The showcase is primarily intended for current 4th‑year Capstone / Final‑Year Design students, but we also welcome recent graduates from the previous academic year, especially if their projects are well suited for presentation.

We kindly ask for your support in sharing this opportunity within your programs and student networks. Your assistance in reaching the right student groups will help ensure strong representation from across the West Central Region.
