DiPaolo Machine Tools was founded by two Italian immigrants who grew up a few miles apart, married, and built something from scratch.
Their son-in-law Nelson, also the son of immigrants, started here as a machine operator. Over time he brought new vision to the business, married their daughter Tina, and together they've carried it forward for more than 55 years.
That's the story at the top. The story on the shop floor is just as good.
Our team traces its roots to Brazil, Colombia, Croatia, El Salvador, France, Greece, Italy, Jamaica, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, and Taiwan.
Different countries, different paths, same address. That's what 55 years of building in Canada looks like.

Nelson started at DiPaolo long before he ever thought he would become President.

That kind of tenure doesn't happen by accident. It takes a real belief in what you're building, and the people around you.

This Father's Day, we're thinking about the dads in our world. Nelson, who leads this team with the same work ethic he showed up with decades ago. The fathers on our shop floor, sales team and in our service trucks. The customers running their own operations, building businesses they're proud of, and passing something meaningful along.

DiPaolo has been part of Canadian manufacturing for more than 55 years. A lot of that time has been spent alongside people who show up every day because what they do matters.

Calgary showed up.
We were in Edmonton and Calgary a couple of weeks ago for the Canadian Metalworking tabletop shows, and it was good to connect with shops across Alberta face to face. These events are a reminder of what's happening on the floor in different parts of the country, and why getting out of the office matters.
If we didn't get a chance to talk at the show, we're still here. Whether you're looking at new equipment, need service on what you've got, or just want to talk through a production problem, reach out anytime.

A special tribute goes to Claudia, the original Boss Lady at DiPaolo, whose vision, strength, and dedication helped lay the foundation for more than 55 years of success in our industry. Her legacy continues through the hardworking women who help keep DiPaolo moving forward every day — including her daughter, Tina.

Today, we honour all the women who balance so much with grace and determination — from raising families to leading at work and keeping life on track behind the scenes. Your contributions, care, and strength mean more than words can express.
