The American Helicopter Society (AHS) Concordia Chapter strives to develop the ingenuity of undergraduate and graduate helicopter enthusiasts. The AHS Concordia Chapter’s mission is to educate engineering students on the vertical flight industry through speaker series with aerospace professionals, tours of aviation plants, and exclusive networking events. Every year, the AHS Concordia team designs

and assembles a Micro-Air Vehicle (MAV) to participate in the renowned MAV Competition hosted by AHS International.

When we launched a call to the Canadian manufacturing and aerospace industry to help us represent Canada at the student level, we were happy to see many companies answer it!
But we were particularly humbled to see this call being answered by a cutting edge manufacturing company, located all the way in Vancouver, British Columbia.

We are honored to welcome Cncmadness as our Gold level supplier and sponsor for this academic year, after having offered to be our supplier for Carbon Fiber material as well as precise CNC machining of carbon fiber plates and shafts. The cutting edge technology that CNC Madness employs in Carbon Fiber manufacturing and rapid prototyping, allowed our team to have a lightweight and strong frame for our drone in record time. within less than a week, our entire design was manufactured and shipped to our doorstep. within 3 and a half business days to be exact, we had our parts in Montreal, ready for final assembly! Record manufacturing times, excellent quality of products, and most importantly a very friendly and helpful partner that we are lucky to be able to work with!

The Vertical Flight Society at Concordia University is proud to welcome the Leonardo Company as one of its industry partners for this academic year!
the Leonardo company is one of the top ten players in the world in Aerospace, Defence and Security on top of being one of the sponsors of the international IMechE UAS Challenge in which our society is taking part of.
We are happy to partner with such an industry giant in a unique mentorship program, in which Leonardo's seasoned and experienced professionals offer our students at the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science unique and valuable mentoring on project management, engineering, and aerospace know-how.
This support will help our students at VFS Concordia with their bid in the IMechE UAS Challenge in addition to providing them with valuable insights for their future careers.

The Vertical Flight Society at Concordia University would like to thank the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) for partnering us with the Leonardo Company in this exciting mentorship program, as well as the Leonardo Company employees for sharing with us their time and knowledge!

On April 19th 2018, our mother association The Vertical Flight Society, made a big announcement that was long-awaited within the vertical flight community: "AHS International is pleased to announce that we are rebranding as the “Vertical Flight Society” to better reflect our membership and our role in the world.

After years of discussion and months of debate, the Board of Directors of AHS International voted to change the identity of AHS to the description that the Society had been using in various forms for a half century."

It is why, as a chapter of this organizaion, we are proud to present the brand new look of our association to Concordia University.
