đź“Ł The Aifred Health team is very excited to close out a great 2025 by welcoming Louisa Petropoulos as its new CEO!

During the past 12 months, Aifred has seen tremendous success in achieving major milestones, including:
🌟 Publication of the results of our North American approval trial.
🌟 Publication of the validation study for our AI model in treatment response prediction.
🌟 Achieving our second US patent.
🌟 Successful completion of regulatory paths in both the US and Canada.

With these milestones under its belt, Aifred is ready and eager for the next phase of its journey! We are delighted to now welcome Louisa Petropoulos in the role of CEO, ready to take Aifred forward to even greater success in this new chapter.

Louisa brings a wealth of expertise to the Aifred team with experience across venture capital, biotech, clinical operations, and business development in Canada and the US. Most recently, she served as President & CEO of the cell therapy CDMO C3i Center Inc whereby under her leadership, C3i was transitioned from an academic institution to an internationally competitive CDMO becoming the first and only CDMO in Canada to obtain Drug Establishment License (DEL) for the commercial manufacturing of cell therapies as well as EMA approval for manufacturing for the EU and attracting international biotech clients.

Louisa’s strong scientific background is ideally matched to the extensive scientific foundations to our work that position Aifred as a responsible, safe and effective decision support tool for clinicians and patients alike.

The Aifred Health team is very excited to share that we’ve been awarded our second U.S. patent!

This is another important milestone for the team and a testament to the deep innovation behind our platform. Patenting AI in healthcare is never straightforward—navigating novelty, explainability, and regulatory considerations, all at the same time, makes the bar especially high.

We are grateful for the hard work of everyone who helped make it happen!

đź“Ł FDA review allows Aifred Health to bring its AI-powered clinical decision support platform for Major Depression to market in the US:

Back in 2019, when we first approached the FDA to ask whether the AI-based clinical decision platform for mental health treatment selection our team was building could or should be regulated, there was no clear answer. The field was still new, the frameworks were evolving, and the path ahead was anything but certain.

Rather than wait for clarity, we helped build it:

Over the years, we engaged with the FDA again and again -
🧩 sharing how we built our model
🧪 aligning on the most rigorous validation and testing methods
🧭 getting critical input into the design of our pivotal North American clinical trial
When that trial was completed, the results became part of a substantial submission package detailing our technology, our science, and our clinical evidence.

Today, we’re glad to share a milestone that’s been years in the making:
👉 The FDA has reviewed and endorsed our strategy and our Instructions for Use — formally confirming that our technology is classified as a non-regulated clinical decision support tool.

This confirmation clears the way for Aifred Health to bring its platform to market, helping clinicians select the right treatments for their patients and, most importantly, to support the millions of people living with the burden of major depression.

Following Health Canada approval last year, this marks another significant step as we continue to advance a broader vision of safe, effective, and responsible AI in mental health.

* L'utilisation de la plateforme améliore considérablement le taux de rémission
* L'utilisation de la plateforme accélère considérablement la vitesse d'amélioration des symptômes.
* L'utilisation de la plateforme n'a pas eu d'impact sur l'observance du traitement
* La plateforme suscite un fort engagement de la part des patients et des cliniciens

The Aifred Health team is thrilled to share the publication of the results of our North American clinical trial which demonstrate the effectiveness of our novel AI-driven platform in major depression:

* Use of the platform significantly improves rate of remission.
* Use of the platform significantly accelerates speed of improvement in symptoms.
* Use of the platform did not impact treatment adherence.
* The platform generates strong patient and clinician engagement.

Sites were located across the United States and Canada, and included U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs sites as well as mood disorders programs in university-affiliated psychiatric departments at the University of Michigan, University of Toronto and McGill University. We extend our sincere thanks to all the internal and external team members and collaborators behind the success of this trial.
