☀️ it sure feels like summer! The weather has been amazing for doing exterior work and this clients little backyard oasis gets a nice breeze and perfect shading from their garden which makes for a productive day with perfect working conditions. We’re excited to get the boards on this composite deck and start bringing this whole project together. Our contracts and estimates often go out around 1:30 am 😮‍💨 Balancing work and family can be tricky sometimes but we always find a way to make it work. We’re extremely grateful to have clients to do contracts and estimates for — you guys are key in allowing us to provide for our not so little family. Kaelen and Gabe came down with a nasty cold/flu after a long hockey tournament last weekend. Our big guy has made a pretty good recovery but unfortunately Kaelen has been out of commission and is in pretty rough shape. Anyone who has worked with us knows how hard Kaelen works.. he goes weeks to months without days off and works long hours often without breaks for lunch. Behind the scenes he also takes exceptional care of me and the kids. As much as I say he’s gotta put himself first it’s just in his nature to grind and give 110%. Unfortunately this means that he goes strong for LONG periods of time and every now and again something takes him down hard. I believe it’s his body’s way of forcing him to slow down and rest and repair. As a small family business we can’t just call in sick and let someone else take over. Being sick and taking necessary time to get better means a total shut down. With project deadlines and our own personal timelines for the end of the month this is unfortunately a big set back for us at the worst time.. but we’re human and it happens. In the meantime we’re doing everything we can to aid in a quick recovery and I’m stepping in to do as much of the material sourcing and estimates as I can on my own while taking care of Kaelen and our 3 littles. We are so grateful for all of our clients and our community of supporters. We are so appreciative of your patience and understanding as we move through this in the midst of transitioning into our peak season. We apologize for any delays in projects, for pending estimates, and delays in consults and hope we will be met with grace and understanding from our clients.

Home renovations have been one of our favourites lately, and not just because they’re mostly inside out of the snow! ❄️ It’s so gratifying to see how quickly and effectively we can transform a space.
