Duties:
ยท Drive a concrete pump truck to and from construction sites located throughout Nanaimo and surrounding areas.
ยท Evaluate the site conditions and set-up the truck appropriately.
ยท Uses and cares for tools and equipment associated with and including the concrete pump and truck.
ยท Operates the boom and pump as required to place concrete in the desired locations.
ยท Loads and unloads concrete pump equipment and attachments.
ยท Complies with safety regulations and precautionary measures while operating the concrete pump - protects self and others by following work safe procedures.
ยท Conducts routine maintenance and repairs to the machinery.
ยท Communicates effectively, is flexible, and discusses and resolves issues.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
ยท Minimum of 3-5 years working in construction as a concrete pump operator
ยท Previous experience operating high pressure line pumps and articulating boom pumps
ยท Must have valid and clean class 1 driversโ license or class 3 drivers' license with air endorsement
ยท Knowledge of the concrete industry โ understanding concrete and mix designs
ยท Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
ยท Physically fit, punctual, dependable and hardworking
ยท Willingness to work over-time as required
