Every detail in this custom Jordan basement was designed with intention — from the curved openings and recessed lighting to tray ceilings created to minimize traditional bulkheads.

And then there’s the 30-foot-long tunnel — easily one of the most unique features in the entire space.

With the homeowner also being the interior designer, every element has been carefully thought through, giving us the opportunity to make the drywall part of the architecture itself.

We’ve said it before, and we’ll keep saying it:

There are certain products and installation methods we will never stop recommending as a drywall contractor specializing in custom homes.

Resilient channel is one of them.

While it’s well known for helping reduce sound transfer between floors, it also helps decouple the drywall from the framing, allowing for movement that can help minimize stress cracks over time.

MEET BRITTANY 👋

If you’ve called, emailed, messaged, or received a quote from A Cut Above Drywall, chances are you’ve already spoken with Brittany.

After five years in finance and later working for one of the Niagara Region’s largest electrical contractors, she joined her husband in building A Cut Above Drywall.

What started as a career change quickly became a passion for construction, home design, and development.

A few things you might not know about her:

🏡 She can spend hours looking at floor plans, custom homes, and real estate listings.

☕ If she’s not holding an iced coffee from someone should probably check on her.

🤝 Building relationships is one of her favourite parts of the industry.

🎨 She’s constantly saving inspiration for home designs, renovations, finishes, and future projects.
