We are aware of the severe storm approaching our area and are actively monitoring conditions. Our crews are on standby and prepared to respond to outages and emergencies as soon as it is safe to do so.

During severe weather, please keep safety top of mind:

⚡ Treat every downed power line as live and dangerous.
⚡ Never attempt to move a power line or anything it may be touching.

There is currently a scheduled outage in a small section of Virgil to support ongoing infrastructure updates. All affected should have received a notice. It's planned for up to 4 hours, but we'll do our best to reduce that time

Power Restoration Complete

We are pleased to advise that power has now been restored to all customers affected by today’s outage.

Our crews worked diligently throughout the event, including challenging conditions caused by extensive flooding, to safely restore service as quickly as possible. We would like to thank our customers for their patience, understanding, and support while repairs were underway.

We also extend our appreciation to Town staff for their assistance and coordination throughout the restoration efforts.

Power Outage Update

Crews have successfully restored power to a small section of the affected area on Nelles and continue to monitor water levels, which are now beginning to recede.

Power for the remaining customers impacted by this event will be restored as soon as it is safe for our crews to operate the necessary equipment.

We understand how frustrating this outage has been and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. The safety of our customers and employees remains our highest priority. We appreciate your patience and understanding as crews work to restore service safely and as quickly as possible.

Crews have restored power to many affected customers. However, customers in the area bounded by Mary Street to Johnson Street, and Gate Street to King Street, will remain without power due to extensive flooding.

Our crews are continuing to work closely with Town staff to resolve the issue as quickly and safely as possible. We appreciate your patience and will provide further updates as more information becomes available.

Crews are actively working to resolve a large outage in old town. The cause is extreme flooding which has submerged critical equipment. Crews are working to re-route power safely. No ETR at this time.

As our community recovers from the flooding, Niagara‑on‑the‑Lake Hydro can help with electrical service disconnects and reconnects as needed. If you rent a water heater, check your monthly bill to find your third‑party provider—NOTL Hydro does not service rented water heaters.
