New deck….not yet! Water damage will need to be addressed first. Rebuilding a local deck started off routinely with demolition. This led to unforeseen issue behind the siding and house wrap. Tackling this started with partial deck removal at lower level to rebuild the patio door framing and support posts. Temporary support walls had to be built to support house weight as we removed all rotted lumber. We found the framing extremely saturated. The weight of the house on wet lumber caused house to compress. We had to re-lift a section of the back of the home by 1/2 inch to bring framing back to level. Then partially rebuilding the old deck so we could access the next level, the main floor patio door and framing that needed to be rebuilt. From there we continued upwards to the second level to partially rebuild the framing along the upper window. And finally, up to the top roof section to address the cause of the water damage. Minimal interior damage was found; new insulation, foam spraying as needed, poly, drywall replacement/repairs, trim reinstalled or replaced depending on if saturated/swelled or contained mold, and paint touch ups to complete the restoration work. If you find yourself in such a situation, remember to calls us at FCR Construction.

Original walls were removed to accommodate an open concept floor plan. Main floor additions included a custom built kitchen island, revised lighting layout, new bathroom layout, flat ceiling with recessed LED lighting, widened stairwell, mud room bench at rear door, new stair railing and vynil flooring throughout. The wider staircase to basement was completed with open risers, and the basement was finished with new drywall, ceiling, paint, trim and lighting to complete the renovation.
