Elephant bones… or just another seriously cool renovation? You decide.

We’re back at it with a repeat client (always an honour!) - this time helping winterize a family cottage that’s been part of their story since the '50s. You can feel the history in every corner, and the lakeside setting? Absolutely stunning.

💪Right now, we’re in the trenches – literally - carefully hand-digging around existing electrical and plumbing. Precision matters here, and we’re setting the stage for some exciting upgrades coming next.

The cottage sits on solid bedrock, and we’re adding new footings to support what’s ahead. It’s the kind of project that blends craftsmanship with care, and honestly, it’s a privilege to be trusted with something this meaningful.

Two bathrooms, one problem - and one bright ending. A first-time homeowner discovered the same issue in both condo bathrooms: soft, water-damaged walls caused by missing waterproofing.

Unchecked, the moisture was seeping in, weakening the walls and caused a leak into the kitchen below.

The Caribou team stepped in to remove the damaged material, clean up the affected areas, and update the space to a safe, fresh condition. Now the homeowner can finally relax and enjoy their new place with complete confidence.

Started as a simple flooring refresh and turned into one of the Quirkiest Floors we've ever tackled. This century-old home had additions that created different subfloors and even shallow cavities beneath the boards. Some folks wonder if one part of the house was once a carriage house - it's a Fun Mystery, but hard to be sure.

The client hired us to redo the floors, and the project grew to include shoring up joists and subflooring to keep the home safe for their family. Along the way we uncovered plumbing surprises - screws poking into pipes that had contributed to rotting under the floor. Our trusted plumbing partner fixed that, and the result is a safe, refreshed home our clients can enjoy for years to come.

Hey everyone! The Caribou team is at it again with another basement renovation.

We’re kicking things off by laying a DMX subfloor, creating a dry, warm, and comfortable floating floor over the concrete. This setup helps prevent mold, keeps the space warmer, and acts as a moisture barrier.

Music in your soul and family in your heart!

We’ve teased this reno for a while, and it’s finally finished!

Soundproofing takes center stage in this basement renovation. Our team installed Rockwool soundproofing insulation and SONOpan - the green material - paired with specialized acoustic caulking to form a seamless barrier against noise. We also added new carpet to the stairs and tucked it under the solid-core door to boost sound control even more.

The client handled the painting and wood panels and the setup is still a work in progress, but their family room and recording studio are ready to create beautiful memories .. and music!
