This decommissioned chimney had been freshly covered in stucco, so we carefully removed the old masonry cap without disturbing the new finish. Once cleared, our crew installed a brand new stainless steel cap (from )— perfectly matched in colour to the flashing and other metalwork around the home.

When masonry sits below grade (beneath ground level), durability is everything. That’s why we use solid concrete block in place of clay brick in these areas. While the difference might not be obvious to the eye, it makes a huge impact in performance and longevity:

🧱✨ A wall restored to its full strength and beauty.

This wall had been patched over the years in different spots, leaving it looking blotchy with mismatched mortar colours. Beyond appearances, that also meant the strength of the joints varied from one section to the next. Our crew went to work repointing the entire wall from top to bottom, bringing consistency, durability, and a clean, unified look.

The in-progress shots really show the difference repointing makes — transforming weak, uneven joints into crisp, solid lines that will stand strong for decades.

🚪🧱 From windows to doors — masonry that adapts.

For this project, we carefully removed the old window sills and deconstructed the brickwork all the way down to the foundation. Using reclaimed brick from the home, we rebuilt and adjusted the opening to fit a brand-new patio door — blending the work seamlessly with the existing wall.

Below that opening, we also removed an unused foundation window. We filled it in with solid concrete block and sealed it with a clean parge coat, closing the gap and protecting the foundation against moisture.

The patio door itself wasn’t installed by us, but this job shows how we handle the masonry side of major home updates. From resizing openings to filling unused ones, we ensure strength, durability, and a consistent finish every time.

👀 From the street, you might not notice much has changed — but the safety difference here is massive.

This unused chimney was beginning to crumble and posed a serious hazard to the homeowners and their neighbours. Large, loose chunks of brick were at risk of falling, and it was only a matter of time. Our crew safely deconstructed the top two-thirds of the chimney brick by brick, leaving a lower structure that blends cleanly into the roofline while being much more secure. We then re-pointed the weakest joints, and capped it off with a new concrete base and a 26-gauge galvanized steel cap to keep the elements out.

🎨 Bonus: the cap was custom-ordered in a special colour to match the homeowner’s preferences — a little personal touch that adds polish and pride.
