This year’s National Capital celebration of excellence will take place on February 18th at the Shaw Centre to celebrate the people, places and businesses that make our city world-class.

Did you know that other from making sure your driveway and home entrance are cleared of snow accumulations for daily travel and emergency purposes, it’s also important to remove any snow accumulating near your furnace intake and exhaust pipes? These are located outside your home and making sure they’re cleared will prevent your furnace from shutting off.

Take a look at them before the large snowfall expected tonight. If your neighbours are elderly or have any disabilities, please take a few minutes to look after theirs as well.

Many home owners don’t know that a clogged air filter could be causing cold - flu like symptoms such as sneezing and coughing.

The air filter keeps dust and other debris from circulating through your HVAC system. If the air filter fails to do this, not only will the debris pass through and start clogging your HVAC system, but it will also end up circulating through your home along with the air that your system circulates.

Changing your furnace air filter more regularly will make you and your family feel more comfortable.
