If your system is under 10 years old, whether it’s your:

…it’s often still covered by the manufacturer's warranty, making repairs the more practical option in many cases.

Once your system reaches 11+ years old, it’s important to start weighing the cost of repairs against the long-term value of replacement.

A good benchmark? If a repair is going to cost roughly $1,000- $1,500, it may be worth considering investing that money into a new unit instead.
