Actua Actua is Canada’s leading science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) youth outreach network.

Through a growing network of members located at universities and colleges across the country, and our Outreach Team, we deliver summer camps, school workshops, clubs and community outreach initiatives to over 350,000 youth in over 500 communities nationwide. Actua is a national leader in its unique community-based approach to delivering customized programming designed to break down barriers to youth participation in science, engineering and technology.

For 25 years, Actua has worked to remove barriers to STEM. This , we are taking a leap forward to ensure youth with disabilities can see themselves as the scientists, engineers and innovators of tomorrow.  

Delivered through the ’s 40+ university and college members, the National Youth with Disabilities program aims to expand equitable access to STEM opportunities in communities nationwide because meaningful innovation starts with inclusion.

Through Actua’s National Youth in STEM (InSTEM) program, First Nations, Inuit and Métis youth across Canada are exploring STEM in ways that foster confidence, creativity and connection to community.

For more than 30 years, this work has been guided by relationships with Indigenous communities, Elders, Knowledge Keepers and partners whose perspectives continue to shape the program in meaningful ways.

When youth feel supported, represented and heard, they help create stronger and more inclusive futures for everyone.

Actua is hiring a Manager for our National Indigenous Youth in STEM (InSTEM) Program for a 12-Month contract.

This is a role for a candidate with lived Indigenous experience and a deep-rooted understanding of Indigenous Ways of Knowing and being. We are looking for a dedicated relationship builder and project manager to drive the operational success of our national InSTEM initiatives. Grounded in trust and reciprocity, this role serves as the vital bridge between Actua’s program model and its meaningful impact on the ground.

In this role, you will strengthen our commitment to reconciliation through education by cultivating transformative STEM pathways for Indigenous youth.

Key Contributions:
➡️ Network coaching: Guide national network members on community relationships and culturally relevant STEM delivery.
➡️ Youth pathways: Lead the national InSTEM Youth Delegation, ensuring long-term mentorship and leadership opportunities.
➡️ Instructor strategy: Lead and implement strategies designed to increase the
representation and retention of Indigenous instructors across Actua’s national network.

Actua instructors have officially arrived in the North to deliver hands-on STEM workshops! 🛩️

Over 4 weeks, they will deliver STEM activities in 18 schools across 12 communities. 🏫

Through culturally relevant STEM activities, instructors will help youth explore how science and technology connect to their communities. By creating spaces where youth can see themselves in STEM, these workshops help develop confidence, curiosity and a sense of belonging.
