Before concrete pipes, before culverts and catch basins, there was just a cold garage on Preston Street… and a vision.
In 1956, one determined man, Luigi Mion, rolled up his sleeves and began crafting precast steps for Ottawa’s booming housing scene. No heat. No machines. Just grit, a shovel, and a wheelbarrow.
By 1963, he moved operations to Bongard Avenue, picking up the pace and picking up forms from Harry Hayley to build for the City of Ottawa. His reputation grew with every cast.
Then in 1970, something changed: drycast entered the picture. Bigger forms, bolder projects, and a growing name in infrastructure.
From humble steps to underground systems; we were laying the foundation for something greater.
