Henry van der Meer, a Steampunk Education alumnus, was awarded the 2026 Summer Entrepreneur Grant for his initiative, CheckmateCognition, a program that uses chess as a tool for thoughtful memory-care engagement and social connection.

Proud to see former students and STEM instructors go on to build something meaningful.
