Fluorescent lighting in your building is no longer just a maintenance issue. It’s a regulatory one.

Canada has restricted the manufacture and import of most mercury-containing fluorescent lamps under federal law. That means:

At Lightenco, we spend every day helping our clients reduce energy consumption, lower emissions, and operate their buildings more sustainably. Today, we looked inward.

Today is our first "Green Day".

Every Wednesday, members of our team work remotely—not because we believe great organizations are built from home, but because we believe great organizations are built with intention.

Green Day is part of our operating model. Four days each week we work side-by-side, collaborating, solving problems, mentoring one another, and serving our clients together.

One day each week, we reduce commuting, create dedicated time for focused work, and take one small step toward reducing our own environmental footprint.

It's a reminder that sustainability isn't just something we recommend. It's something we choose to practice. The environmental impact of one day may be modest. The impact of making thousands of intentional decisions over time is anything but.

Leadership doesn't begin with what we ask our clients to do. It begins with what we're willing to do ourselves.

Today, members of the Lightenco team are attending the Ottawa Board of Trade Energy Forum, joining leaders from business, government, utilities, and industry to explore how we build the energy infrastructure needed to support a growing, more electrified economy.

Staying at the forefront of our industry means more than delivering great projects. It means listening, learning, sharing ideas, and engaging in the conversations that will shape the future of energy in our communities.

The challenges ahead are complex, but so are the opportunities. Events like this bring together the partnerships and perspectives needed to drive practical, sustainable solutions that benefit businesses, communities, and the environment.

Commercial solar is gaining momentum in Ontario—and that's exactly why conversations like today's matter.

The Lightenco team is pleased to be participating in the Toronto Hydro Solar Connect Workshop, alongside industry partners, helping building owners and property managers better understand what's possible with commercial solar.

At Lightenco, we believe every successful energy project starts with good engineering, sound economics, and a clear understanding of the opportunities available—not with a product.

Today the Lightenco team is attending the Annual Forum hosted by Partners in Project Green.

We're proud supporters of PPG because their mission closely aligns with our own: bringing together building owners, operators, sustainability professionals, and solution providers to accelerate environmental progress through practical action.

The challenges facing our buildings and infrastructure are too complex for any one organization to solve alone. Real progress happens when people share ideas, challenge assumptions, learn from one another, and work together to implement meaningful solutions.
