People say software makes audio principles simple, but that’s a mistake.
If something was hard and it only feels easy because a program is doing the work without you understanding how, then nothing actually became simple. The only way to make something 'simple' is through intense study; and even then, it doesn’t become simple, it only becomes understandable.
You don't need software that simply does your job; if it does, it will work even better for your competitor, who truly understands the process.
You need software that does the work while transforming you into a better professional.
The best tool doesn't just deliver a result; it gives you the mastery to command it.

I have been very fortunate in my career, as I have always been able to work with a great balance between research and application. I believe that the lack of this balance makes us either too practical or too theoretical, and that is something we should avoid in our careers, in my opinion.
That said, I am proud to say that I am now a collaborator at the CIRMMT, Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Music Media and Technology, where I will be able to contribute to many projects that combine research and the industry.
