Ductless heat pumps are one of the most flexible ways to add heating and cooling to an Ottawa home, especially when extending or modifying existing ductwork isn't practical.

Daikin offers ductless options that work well for a variety of applications:

• Heating and cooling from one system
• Great for additions, bedrooms, and hard-to-reach spaces
• Cold-climate models designed for Canadian winters
• Flexible installation and indoor unit placement

At Peak Comfort HVAC, we focus on selecting the right equipment for the space, proper placement, clean line-set routing, and thorough commissioning. A good ductless installation is about more than the equipment itself.

Your AC is running, the main floor feels comfortable, but the upstairs bedrooms are still too warm. Sound familiar?

This is a common cooling complaint in Ottawa homes, and it doesn't necessarily mean your air conditioner is failing. Poor airflow, undersized ductwork, limited return air, attic heat, and thermostat location can all contribute to uneven temperatures.

At Peak Comfort HVAC, we believe in understanding the entire system before recommending expensive equipment replacements. We put together an article explaining why upstairs rooms struggle to cool and what can actually be done about it.

Furnace firing up, running briefly, and then shutting itself off? This is a common heating service complaint in Ottawa, and it doesn't necessarily mean your furnace needs replacing.

There are several possible causes, including dirty flame sensors, blocked condensate drains, venting issues, overheating limits, or electrical faults. The timing of the shutdown and the furnace's fault codes can tell us a lot about what's actually happening.

At Peak Comfort HVAC, we focus on finding the cause before recommending repairs. Proper diagnostics, straightforward explanations, and no unnecessary replacements.

This one went well beyond swapping equipment. A complete Ottawa HVAC upgrade built around comfort, efficiency, and making the system easier to service for years to come.

• Cold-climate heat pump + modulating furnace
• Ductwork overhauled for a cleaner, more serviceable layout
• Piping, drainage and equipment arranged with future maintenance in mind

Good equipment matters. How the whole system is put together matters just as much. Peak Comfort HVAC takes the extra time to leave behind a system that's clean, accessible and properly finished.

New ductless heat pump install by Peak Comfort HVAC in Ottawa. This setup was added for a master bedroom, giving that space its own cooling control without relying on hard-to-balance second-floor ductwork.

Why installs like this make sense:
• Better zoning for larger homes
• More control in hard-to-reach rooms
• Clean line-hide and a neat, serviceable finish

A ductless system can be a practical way to improve comfort where upstairs rooms never seem to stay quite right.

Older Ottawa homes are not always a simple “swap the box” situation. The right HVAC option depends on the existing ductwork, insulation, boiler or furnace setup, and how the home actually feels room to room.

Common options can include:
• High-efficiency furnace replacement
• Cold-climate heat pump or ductless additions
• Boiler upgrades and airflow improvements

Peak Comfort HVAC keeps it practical: clear options, honest recommendations, and no one-size-fits-all sales pitch.

Peak Comfort HVAC is local, Canadian, and focused on straightforward service:

• Clean work and clear communication
• No scare tactics or pressure

If your AC struggled this summer, or you want the furnace checked before the cold hits, now is a good time to get ahead of it.

One common no-cooling issue in Ottawa is a weak AC capacitor. The capacitor helps the outdoor fan motor and compressor start and run properly.

When it weakens, the AC may:
• Hum, click, or struggle to start
• Run the fan but not the compressor
• Stop cooling even though the system seems to be trying

The good news: it is usually a simple electrical test with a clear answer. Peak Comfort HVAC checks the actual readings before recommending parts.
